The Mothers in Medicine fund helps clinician mothers pay for childcare.
The Mothers in Medicine fund, the Zorya Foundation’s flagship fund, pays out flat cash grants for clinician mothers to pay for childcare. Why? We want women working in clinical roles to be able to continue their work with less worry. We believe access to childcare is a social determinant of health. Support for clinician mothers is limited, and so we started the Mothers in Medicine fund to help fill the gap.
Applicants are selected for grants based on need. The Zorya Foundation and its funds are supported by individual donations from our community—grants are paid out based upon availability of funding. Grants are not guaranteed.
We are currently experiencing an unprecedented influx of new applications. At this time, we are not accepting new applicants while we work to secure additional resources to expand the fund. If additional funding becomes available, we will reach out to applicants on our waitlist.
