A new initiative to support women working as Direct Service Workers (DSW) in Kansas!
Zorya Foundation is thrilled to announce a new and exciting initiative to support women working as Direct Service Workers (DSW) in Kansas!
Thanks to a generous partnership with UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Kansas, Zorya Foundation will be providing 45 childcare grants to mothers working as Direct Service Workers in the state of Kansas!
UnitedHealthcare and Zorya Foundation believe access to childcare is a social determinant of health and that mothers working in healthcare are vital to the health of our communities and the resiliency of our healthcare systems.
There is a critical shortage of Direct Services Workers in Kansas, and this partnership aims to address this healthcare workforce challenge. By eliminating barriers and stress related to childcare, Direct Service Workers are more likely to join the workforce and remain in their roles caring for community members.
As of today, we are accepting applications!
If you are a Direct Service Worker in Kansas, and you could use help with childcare, we strongly encourage you to apply! 👇

Any woman who is a parent or primary caregiver and is working as a Direct Service Worker in Kansas is eligible to apply for this childcare subsidy.
Childcare grants are a flat, one-time payment of $1,000 per applicant, which is the approximate national average of 1 month of childcare costs for 1 child.
There will be a limited number of applicants selected each month. Grantees will be selected based on need and availability of funds.
This local equity initiative would not be possible without our thoughtful and generous partners at UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Kansas, the top-rated Medicaid Health Plan in Kansas, with a rating of 4 out of 5 in NCQA’s Medicaid Health Plan Ratings 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Zorya Foundation is grateful for this collaborative partnership to support women in healthcare.
